Summer is just days away. That means time for sun protection and sandals. Yay!!
Summer is absolutely my favorite season of the year. Anyone that knows me, or has read my “about me” page can testify I think shoeless is best, but sandals and flip flops are a must for me! I think I own around 100 pairs…give or take a few. 😉 So making baby sandals is an obvious choice. Besides, what’s cuter than a pudgy little baby foot in a brightly colored sandal? Nothing! Unless it’s a baby in a floppy sun hat!! But more on that later.
There are so many bootie, shoe, and sandal patterns floating around to chose from, but trust me when I tell you, there aren’t that many that are simple to whip up with easy to follow directions. Maybe it’s just me, but I find many of the patterns to read like stereo instructions! Sandals and booties have very little to them which means if you are a seller you’ll need to keep the price down so to me that equates to “keep it simple sweetie!”
I found this wonderful peek a boo sandal pattern here at the crochet zone.com. Sizes are for 3-6 months and 6-12 months. I worked up my first pair and was dancing a jig I tell ya. Super easy to follow instructions, very quick to work up. You could easily crochet a couple pair or more in a day. So far, this is my favorite sandal pattern of the season and as you’ll see in the next few posts, I’ve found other great ways to adorn them. I’m also working on adding to this pattern by creating laces instead of using buttons. Stay tuned!
Awe…here she is, Miss America…
How adorable is this, right?!
She’s ready for her close up!
I found this little sun hat pattern via my pal Pinterest, on a website called Stitch11. She’s got a few quirky items so I’ll definitely be popping back by to check out her site. The pattern sizing starts at 6-9 months and goes all the way to adult. Another great pattern. Who would even think these two items came from separate sites? Match made in heaven. 🙂
Both items are a great start to your little ones summer collection. And of course every baby needs protection from the sun so why not do it in style? Feel free to click on the links and start creating your own, or purchase here in the crochet boutique. I’ll be adding new color variations all summer, but if you don’t see the colors you prefer, no problem. Send me a quick email from the contact page and I’ll be happy to custom make them for you.
